Learn to Knit

$60 class fee includes yarn, needles, and 4 hours of instruction.
Instructor: Mary Skeen
This two-session class is for those of you who have never picked up needles and yarn, or who may have learned as a child and forgotten everything.  In the first class, you will learn to knit and bind off. Second class will include casting on, purling and reading a pattern. You should be able to knit up a scarf (yes, you will!) after leaving these classes, and maybe do some ribbing too.

Note: when you call to register, please use the session LETTER.

(We try to keep the class availability updated as frequently as possible.)

Learn to Crochet

$60 class fee includes yarn, hook, and 4 hours of instruction.
Instructor: Shelly Foster

All crochet stitches start from a basic chain that is in turn started with a slip knot. Once you know how to make a chain and work your way back along the chain you will know how to crochet. It's that simple, really! We will also learn the basic stitches of crochet: single, double, and triple crochet, with which you can make virtually any crochet project. You will also learn to read/understand stitch abbreviations and (hopefully) basic patterns!

Saturdays, September 6 and 13        2:00-4:00

Spin your own Yarn!

Chris will teach using basic top-whorl drop spindles and provide a spindle, fiber, and detailed instructions/book recommendations/website references for students to take home.  Students will leave with yarn that they can knit or crochet!
