How has your company grown, from its origins to today?
Neighborhood Fiber Co. began in the kitchen of my basement apartment in Washington, DC with just 12 colors and a few base yarns. Now, it is based in it's own studio/storefront in Baltimore, MD. We offer close to 40 colors in more than 10 base yarns, but our priority continues to be to produce uniquely vibrant, hand-dyed yarn
How do you go about developing and naming new colors or yarns?
Each Neighborhood Fiber Co. color is inspired by a neighborhood or landmark in one of the cities where I've lived: Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD or Columbus, OH.
What makes your company special?
The Neighborhood Fiber Co. color sense is distiguished by a vast array of fully saturated, vibrant colors with a distinct urban sensibility. I love the city, and I think that aesthetic comes through in the yarns.
