Learn the principles of this stitch, then make a gorgeous scarf in self striping yarn! Basic knitting and purling skills, and increase and decreases are all you need. Please bring a pair of # 8 or 9 needles to practice on. We will supply scrap yarn to work the pattern in class, and you may choose a gorgeous yarn for your actual project afterwards. Instructor: Ella Moorcroft Class fee $25.00 Session: Sunday February 3 1:30 to 3:30pm T8: Double Knitting No, it isn’t something Gramma does, nor do you need to be an experienced knitter. If you can knit and purl, you can double knit! This class will teach you the three different techniques that are called double knitting. At the end of the class Barbie or Teddy will be on their way to a stylish wardrobe makeover. Bring your plain yarn ends to class and needles appropriate in size (circular needles or DPNs are needed for the one method). Come learn how to increase and decrease stitches, so you can do it intentionally and learn how to undo those extra stitches by knowing what to look for when you are knitting. Already feel confident and not picking up extra stitches, but sometimes you want a decorative increase or decrease and sometimes you want to hide that increase or decrease? Come add some new techniques to repertoire. All you need are basic knit and purl skills for this class Please bring light colored, worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles to class. Come learn other methods of casting or binding off. Hate to stitch that shoulder seam? How about a three needle bind-off. And those pesky ends … learn to hide them discreetly and have them stay hidden. Blocking? No, we do not mean those brightly colored wooden blocks, we mean add water and time, and hide some flaws while you are at it. We will make it fun and easy. You will follow this simple pattern, learn to use "lifelines," and block lace correctly. Knowledge of basic increases and decreases is required. I1: Toe-up Socks Socks knit from the toe to the cuff can be specially altered and tweaked to fit the wearer... which makes them vastly appealing to new sock knitters! With basic knitting and purling knowledge, this class will quickly cover DPN (double pointed needle) usage and casting on the toe of a sock. We've got a class for you! Knit this easy hat in orange, strawberry, even eggplant! All you need are basic knitting and purling skills, and we will knit this hat in the round. You will learn to knit in the round using one of three methods for knitting a small project (like a sleeve or sock) when you do not have a short circular needle for the project. Please bring DPNs or 24” circular needle or 2 16” circular needles to class in a size 5, 6 or 7. We’ll walk you through it. In the first session we will check your gauge, cast-on and establish the lace pattern. In the second session, we will learn I-cord and bury the ends. Knit in the round from a lace weight yarn this little gem works up quickly. Please bring: Stitch markers, and circular needle in size 4.
