T1: Learn to Knit
This class is for those of you who have never picked up needles and yarn, or who may have learned as a child and forgotten     
everything.  In the first class, you will learn to knit and bind off. Second class will include casting on, purling and reading a
pattern. You should be able to knit up a scarf (yes, you will!) after leaving these classes, and maybe do some ribbing too.

T2: Learn to Crochet
All crochet stitches start from a basic chain that is in turn started with a slip knot. Once you know how to make a chain and
work  your way back along the chain you will know how to crochet. It's that simple, really! We will also learn the basic stitches of
crochet: single, double, and triple crochet, with which you can make virtually any crochet project.

Project Classes for Beginner Knitters with some knitting experience:

   B1: Knit your First Hat
Tired of making scarves? Yes, you can work in the round with a bulky yarn and knit your first hat! So cute for adults, kids, even babies.   Basic   
knitting skills are all you need. This is the perfect class for those of you who have just "graduated" from our learn to knit class! We will show you
how  to join and work on circular needles, decrease, change colors, and work on those scary double-pointed needles.  
Please bring a size 10 16” circular needle, a set of size 10 double point needles, and bulky yarn to class.(Supplies may be purchased before      
class!)

B2: Knit your First MITTENS!
Don't be afraid! Mittens are easy, especially worked flat! You will learn how to make a thumb gusset, how to do mattress stitch, and even how to
do two mittens at once so they match perfectly! We will make a child's mitten to the end , and you will complete all the different techniques that go  
into making a mitten…
Materials needed: At least 100 yards of worsted weight yarn, Straight needles sizes 5  and 7, Stitch markers, 2 stitch holders and tapestry

B3:  Beaded Scarf     (you asked for it, and it's back again!)
    Ever wanted to try knitting with beads? This is the class for you. You will learn how to string and carry beads into your work, and create a
    beautiful gift. Make this beautiful art deco-inspired scarf as a gift and you’ll never give it away! People will be begging you for this one. Knitting,
    purling and long-tail casting on experience required for this class. Please bring size 5 needles with you to class.
    Note: Homework will be assigned before the class!

B4: Beaded Necklace              This one fills fast!
This fun and gorgeous project goes so quickly that you will finish one in class! Then you can go home and make one for everyone on your holiday
list.  You will learn how to string beads, slip beads between your stitches, use the backwards loop method of casting on and the “wrap and turn”  
technique for short rows. You will need smooth non animal fiber (cotton, soy, bamboo, linen, silk) light fingering yarn and the appropriate needles  
for the yarn. You only need to  know how to knit and cast off for this project!

B5: Paint With YARN: Scarf Class!   New class!   First in a series
    Who needs a pattern to knit something amazing? NOT YOU! This class, taught by artist Linda Rosenthal, will make you think outside the box!
    Using a very simple stitch pattern, Linda will help you put colors together to create your own unique work of art. This is the perfect class for
    those of you who are in need of some "color therapy!" Please go through your stash and bring whatever yarns make you happy. (Note: you can
    use small bits of leftovers for this one, so bring a bunch.) In class, we will go over how to put the colors together to make a one-of -a kind scarf,
    or table runner, or wall hanging.

B6: Booties! In two hours
Knit these cute booties in no time at all. It's the greatest pattern: just tricky enough to be good for beginners. Learn yarn-overs, knitting
2  together and purling 2 together. Then make a bunch for all the babies in your life. Please bring size 5 or 6 needles to class
and pick worsted or sport yarn before class starts.

B7: Beaded Wire cuff     
Do you love the look of those beautiful wire bracelets with the beads all over? Well, it's easy  and fun to do!
Basic knitting and purling skills are all you need. We will go over different techniques for adding beads to your work, and how to work comfortably   
with wire. This beautiful bracelet will make you want to knit one for all your friends! Please bring size 2 needles to class.

Project Classes for Crocheters

C1:   Rainbow Granny Scarf  
Learn how to make granny squares with this beautiful floral motif.  Made in color-changing yarn, this is a show-stopper!  You will need  
to know how to make the following stitches: chain, single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitch.  We will begin by learning how to work
in a circle and doing a quick refresher for those whose basics are a little rusty.  Bring a size F hook to class.  There will be homework
in between the two sessions.

C2:Tunisian Crochet!    New Class!
Tunisian Crochet is a technique that borrows elements from both knittting and crochet, forming a sort of fusion of the two.  When working Tunisian  
crochet, you hold your stitches along a special, extra long hook that has a knitting needle end.  The finished fabric looks like a weaving,
Stockinette stitch fabric, or lace, depending on which stitch you choose to work.  Come learn this amazing technique with a simple scarf project of
your choosing.  PLEASE BRING a tunisian crochet hook, size H, I, or J, with you to class.  We will be using sock weight yarn from the shop.  You'll
need to know how to make the chain and single crochet stitches for this class.

Project Classes for knitters with Intermediate skills:

    D1: Learn to knit Socks! Top Down
Learn to knit your first pair of socks! Then make more for gifts! You will be learning to make socks on double pointed needles. This
method is fun and easy, and socks are great gifts and the perfect project for the knitter on the go! You will be making socks from the cuff down
to the toe,and learning to turn a heel and graft the toe together. Basic knitting and purling skills required. Note: Please come to class early to
choose yarn, and bring size 3 double point needles to class.

D2: Paint with YARN : Bowl class  New class! Second in the series
Once again, artist Linda Rosenthal will help you free yourself of the need for a pattern! Using 100% wools, and help with color and
texture, you will construct a free-form bowl. Make it as big or as small as you like! Note: bowls will be finished and felted at home.

D3: Entrelac
    A unique "basket weave" pattern that looks really impressive, but is fun to knit!Have some fun doing the short-rows of this stitch, then make
    a gorgeous scarf  in self striping yarn!  Basic knitting and purling skills, and increase and decreases are all you need. Please bring a pair of
    # 8 or 9 needles to practice on. We will supply scrap yarn to work the pattern in class, and you may choose a gorgeous self-striping yarn for
    your actual project afterwards.
