Our team of talented, enthusiastic teachers will help you learn all kinds of new skills. ​


From beginner knitting and crochet to jewelry-making, spinning and weaving, we offer a broad selection to suit any skill level.  

Class sizes are small (maximum 6 students) so our students get plenty of individualized attention.  You also receive 10% off class materials when purchased at Lovelyarns.

​And our prices are so reasonable that you can take lots of classes without depleting your yarn budget!

Learn a new skill​ with one of our fabulous teachers.  Get the basics down with these classes, and then graduate to something more adventurous!

NOTE: You must be paid-up 48hrs before class starts, or we will not hold your spot.

If you must cancel due to unforeseen circumstance, we will work with you to reschedule your class or issue you a store credit for the amount of your class fee.

Learn to Knit*

 $80 class fee includes yarn, needles, and 4 hours of instruction.
Instructor: Jayne Trentanove/Tara Robinson
This two-session class is for those of you who have never picked up needles and yarn, or who may have learned as a child and forgotten everything.  In the first class, you will learn to knit and bind off. Second class will include casting on, purling and reading a pattern. You should be able to knit up a scarf (yes, you will!) after leaving these classes, and maybe do some ribbing too.

(We try to keep the class availability updated as frequently as possible.)

Crochet Bootcamp*

$80 class fee includes yarn, hook, and 4 hours of instruction.

Instructor: Brittni Moore

All crochet stitches start from a basic chain that is in turn started with a slip knot. Once you know how to make a chain and work your way back along the chain you will know how to crochet. It's that simple, really! We will also learn the basic stitches of crochet: single, double, and triple crochet, with which you can make virtually any crochet project. You will also learn to read/understand stitch abbreviations and (hopefully) basic patterns!

Beginner Drop Spindle*

$85 class fee includes 3 hours of instruction and all materials

Instructor: Christiane Knight

Learn to make your own beautiful yarn on a drop spindle! No prior experience is necessary for thjis class. Materials: All are included with class fee.


Beginner Weaving* (Learn to weave on a floor loom)

$250 class fee includes 16 hours of instruction and all materials

Instructor: Erin Dowd

Learn to weave on a floor loom with Baltimore fiber artist, Clare Nicholls! You will be guided through your very first weaving project while you learn about yarn calculations, sett, and basic weaving structures. All materials are included in the class fee so just bring yourself and a sense of adventure!Materials: All are included with class fee.


Dye Your Own Sock Blank! New Class!

$150 class fee includes 4 hours of instruction and all materials

Instructor: Lynda Del Genis

Learn how to dye your own sock yarn! You can make cool designs and gradients in this fun one-day workshop! Sock blanks are a great way to get hand-dyed gradients and unexpected colorways.  Sock blanks are made on a knitting machine and the ends are left unbound so you can knit or crochet directly from the blank. You don't need to have any prior dyeing experience just a sense of adventure! No prior experience is necessary for this class. Materials are included.

Next Steps in Knitting *

$60 class fee includes 3 hours of instruction

Instructor: Sarah Mikkelsen

Have you just learned to knit and want to know what comes next? This is the class for you! Sarah will show you how to knit in the round, change colors for making stripes and adding the next ball of yarn to your project, how to make pom poms, tassels and fringe, and more! Materials: Worsted weight yarn in two contrasting colors, size US8 straight and US8 16" circular needles, stitch markers and a tapestry needle.


Brioche Workshop**

$60 class fee includes 3 hours of instruction

Instructor: Melissa Salzman


Learn the basics of knitting the brioche stitch AND some directional increases and decreases in this fun 3 hour class! Students should be very comfortable with CO, knit, purl, slip, yarn over, ssk, k2tog, skp, psso and BO. Brioche is a reversible warm fabric perfect for extra squishy scarves, shawls, hats and sweaters. Materials: bring to class two contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn and a US size 8 circular needle.

Top Down Raglan Sweater**

$100 class fee includes 6 hours of instruction

Instructor: Marcia Smith

Take this great 3-session class and learn about top-down sweater construction as you knit your first sweater! Materials: Bring enough yarn in any weight to make your sweater, 2 sizes (smaller size for cuffs and edges and larger size for body) of 32” circular needles and 2 sizes (smaller size for cuff larger size for sleeve) 12” circs or DPNs in the correct size for your gauge, stitch markers (one removeable), waste yarn, and a tapestry needle. Yarn must be ordered AT LEAST 10 days before class.

How to Ravelry* New Class!

$40 class fee includes 2 hours of instruction

Instructor: Melissa Salzman

Learn to use Ravelry like a pro in this fun new class! You will learn to set up your account, navigate forums and groups, and to easily and efficiently learn to use filters for patterns searching! Materials: Melissa will use the shop tablet for demonstration in class but feel free to bring your own tablet, laptop or other internet enabled device; we have wifi for you to use.

Coiled Vessels *

$100 class fee includes 3 hours of instruction, coiling base and needles

Learn this fun artistic basketry technique while making a new basket, bowl, or vessel for your home or as a gift. Materials: All materials are provided for you. If you would like to supplement, please feel free to bring some of your own yarn from home or purchase some from the shop before/during class.                                             

Sunday, April 19                                                11am - 2pm

Tunisian Crochet**

$60 class fee includes 3 hours of instruction

Instructor: Brittni Moore

Learn the basics of Tunisian Crochet while making a sampler in this super fun class! The stitches we will learn in class include simple stitch, knit stitch, tunisian full stitch and honeycomb stitch. You must know crochet basics before taking this class. Materials: Bring Size 24” L Tunisian Crochet hook and worsted weight yarn in a color of your choosing. Materials may be purchased in the shop before class.


Intermediate Crochet**

$60 class fee includes 3 hours of instruction

Instructor: Brittni Moore


Take your crochet to the next level! Learn how to crochet in the round, make increases, decreases and how to read crochet patterns and charts. Materials: 1 skein of worsted weight yarn in a light solid color and a size USH (5mm) crochet hook



$60 class fee includes 2 hours of instruction

Instructor: Sari Holt

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting adorable tiny creatures, objects, plants and food! Come learn the basics of creating 3D forms in crochet.  Materials: a size B or C crochet hook (yarn and stuffing is provided) Must be comfortable with single and double crochet stitches.

Be the Boss of Your Knitting: Tips and Tricks to make your knitting stop giving you sass.

$40 class fee includes 2 hours of instruction

Is your knitting giving you sass? Are you having a tough time with charts or following a lace pattern? Learn to read a pattern, decipher charts, substitute yarns and highlight key instructions, how to use stitch markers, keep track of your progress and to become the boss of your knitting! Materials: All are provided

Saturday, April 25                                   9am - 11am

Color & Free Form Knitting **

$80 class fee includes 4 hours of instruction.
Instructor: Linda Rosenthal


Linda brings her expertise in color, design, and stitchery to this fabulous new class! Learn to experiment with blending color and stitch techniques in your knitting.  Bring an assortment of needle sizes to use in class while we play with the varied fibers on our brand new Yarn Tasting Wall!

Circular Weaving

$55 class fee includes 2 hours of instruction and some materials.
Instructor: Linda Rosenthal


This technique can used to make small Dorset buttons to large mandalas and wall art! Materials: Bring an assortment of sewing needles and any bits of ribbon, yarn and beads from your stash or you can purchase items before class at the shop. Hoops will be provided for you.
