Knit with Two Hands: Introduction to Fair Isle Knitting/Technique Class** New Class!

$40 class fee includes 2 hours of instruction

Fair isle patterns can be found in all types of knitting, from hats, cowls and yoked sweaters.  These patterns are beautiful and fun to knit but intimidating for someone who is new to the technique.  This class will teach you stranded knitting using both hands at the same time.  You will learn how to read a color work pattern, how to catch floats, and the rules of yarn dominance.  Because this is a technique class, we will not focus on one particular project.  At the conclusion of this class, however, you will have the skills necessary to begin a colorwork project of your choice.

Homework:  Using worsted weight yarn from stash, cast on 80 stitches onto a size 7 or 8 16-inch circular needle.  Place marker and join in the round.  Knit two rounds.  Bring a contrasting color yarn (for colorwork practice) and additional stitch markers to class.
