Lovely gives back to the community.
Lovelyarns is pleased to give back to the community by sponsoring several charity projects
The 500 Hats Project is a year-round effort; we encourage stitchers from all over to contribute hand-made hats which will warm the heads of elementary and middle-school children in a selected Baltimore City school or program each winter. We are very proud to partner with Warm Hearts Warm Hats: A Weekly Knitting Retreat on this fantastic project!
If you would like to participate in the 500 Hats Project, please knit or crochet a hat in any yarn, any style, any child-size and bring it or mail it to the shop! There is no deadline for hats as this is an annual project. We are happy to donate yarn if you do not have stash you would like to use.

The Mother Bear Project provides hand-stitched bears to children suffering from HIV and AIDS in Africa. Patterns can be found here, and we provide as much free yarn as you like. All you have to do is stitch a bear! We proudly box up your bears and ship them to the project headquarters in Minnesota where the bears get a red heart sewn on their chests, and then they are off to the children. We accept and ship bears year round so there is no deadline for the bears. If you can't knit or crochet but want to participate, we collect monetary donations as well.
Lovelyarns is proud to be partners with Knitted Knockers. We are accepting your completed unstuffed knockers and will happily send them on to those in need. We have yarn and patterns available at the shop!
