Service Description

In this class you will learn to knit short- row garter bands that are knit with the fronts; Integrated Pockets; Picking up stitches using a crochet hook and how to knit one- row buttonholes. Instructions for 5 sizes plus a schematic for the pattern pieces are included in your class fee. Materials: 6-8 skeins of Brown Sheep "Top of the Lamb" or other Aran weight yarn depending on the size you wish to knit; US 9 knitting needle, scissors, paper and a pen. All students receive 10% off class materials purchased at Lovelyarns. Homework: Knit a 6-8" gauge swatch in stockinette with US9/5.5mm needles or size to get a fabric that you like. No garter border on the edges, just knit a row, purl a row and then slip stitches onto a piece of waste yarn; do not bind off. Borders and bind-offs alter your gauge and your swatch is meant to be as if you have a cut a piece of fabric from the middle of your sweater. Bring a top to class that fits how you want your new vest to fit so we can use those measurements to help ensure the best fit for you.
