Knit your own adventure (KYOA) top down drop shoulder pullover with Melissa! What is a knit your own adventure? It's when we give you the framework for a particular garment and you fill in all of the details with YOUR gauge and YOUR measurements so you get a finished object perfectly tailored just for YOU! In this class the idea is to knit a drop shoulder pullover from the top down instead of the more commonly done bottom up variety. In this class you will learn to do a provisional cast-on, increases, decreases, short rows, and picking up stitches. To be a success in class, you need to be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off. MATERIALS: 400g - 1000g (quantity of yarn will vary depending on the weight of the yarn you choose and the size of the finished garment you wish to make) of yarn and needles to get a fabric that you like. We can't wait to cast-on and have some knitting fun with you! Students receive a 10% discount on supplies purchased at Lovelyarns. HOMEWORK: knit a gauge swatch with your desired yarn and the needle you plan to use for the body of the pullover. Swatch instructions: CO 40 sts and knit in stockinette (knit a row, purl a row) or the stitch pattern you wish to use for your sweater for 6 inches Do not bind off your swatch just run a piece of waste yarn through the live sts. Wash and block your swatch because some fibers like cotton tend to "bloom". Bring in a sweater that fits you how you want your new sweater to fit you and we will use those measurements to determine the pattern size you should knit.
