Learn to knit your first cabled hat with Sarah! The "Owl Hat" was designed by Julie Grimmet and we will have purchased copies printed out for you during class. You will learn cabling, and decreasing by SSK and K2tog. Homework: With your 16" US8 needles CO 80sts. Join to knit in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Place SM to mark beginning of round. Rnd 1: *k1, p1; repeat from * to end of rnd Repeat Rnd 1 seven times (8 rows total - approx 1” length). Materials can be purchased before class with a 10% class discount. You will need worsted weight yarn, size US 8/5mm 16" circular knitting needles, size US 8 DPNs, a cable needle, stitch markers and a tapestry needle. Students should already be comfortable casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off.
